Job Description
The Teach Team is seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and personally.
\nAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the school's SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n· Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
\n· Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
\n· Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and social skills.
\n· Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
\n· Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies where appropriate.
\n· Monitor pupil progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents when required.
\n· Create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment where every child can succeed.
\nWhat We're Looking For
\n· Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.
\n· A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach.
\n· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
\n· A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
\n· The ability to build positive relationships and encourage pupil engagement.
\n· An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
