Interim Director of Finance
\nEdinburgh (Hybrid)
\n 3 months Initial Contract
\n £650 p/d (Inside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join a major Scottish public sector organisation on an interim basis. Reporting to the Chief Executive and forming part of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic financial leadership across a complex organisation with an annual budget of approximately £500m.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Lead Finance and Procurement functions. \n
- Provide strategic financial advice to the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team. \n
- Oversee financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, risk management and governance. \n
- Lead annual budget-setting and spending review processes. \n
- Manage relationships with government stakeholders and external auditors. \n
- Oversee statutory accounts and financial compliance activities. \n
- Support major transformation and organisational change programmes. \n
- Ensure value for money, accountability and effective stewardship of public funds. \n
Essential Skills & Experience
\n- \n
- CCAB-qualified accountant with current membership of a recognised professional accountancy body and up-to-date CPD. \n
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within a large, complex organisation. \n
- Proven experience managing substantial budgets and financial planning processes. \n
- Strong understanding of public sector governance, audit and financial controls. \n
- Experience providing strategic advice at Executive or Board level. \n
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills. \n

- Public sector or government experience. \n
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation programmes. \n
