Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy in their search for an experienced Asbestos Bulk Analyst to join their laboratory team in Worthing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Asbestos Bulk Analyst to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality asbestos testing services. Working within a modern laboratory environment, you'll play a key role in identifying asbestos-containing materials while benefiting from structured workloads, supportive management, and genuine long-term career progression.

THE ROLE\n

As an Asbestos Bulk Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing asbestos bulk samples using polarised light microscopy (PLM) in accordance with HSG248 and UKAS procedures.

Working as part of an experienced laboratory team, the Asbestos Bulk Analyst will ensure samples are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and turnaround times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n

    Analysing asbestos bulk samples using polarised light microscopy (PLM)

  • \n
  • \n

    Identifying asbestos fibre types in accordance with HSG248 guidance

  • \n
  • \n

    Recording and reporting analytical findings accurately

  • \n
  • \n

    Processing samples within agreed turnaround times

  • \n
  • \n

    Maintaining laboratory equipment and supporting quality assurance procedures

  • \n
  • \n

    Ensuring compliance with UKAS standards, HSE guidance, and laboratory procedures

  • \n
  • \n

    Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment

  • \n

    BOHS P401 qualification (essential)

  • \n
  • \n

    Previous experience working as an Asbestos Bulk Analyst

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong understanding of HSG248 and UKAS laboratory requirements

  • \n
  • \n

    High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a laboratory team
