CHP Shift Operators – Renewable Energy£42,000 – £45,000 + benefitsLincoln, LincolnshireSCINERGY Recruitment are looking for a number of Shift Operators / CHP Operators to join a biomass power-generation facility near Lincoln, Lincolnshire. The site converts recovered wood chip into renewable energy and reusable wood products, helping to reduce landfill waste and provide an alternative to finite fossil fuels.Working as part of the operations team, you will operate and monitor the boiler plant and associated equipment, ensuring the facility performs safely, efficiently and in line with its operational and environmental targets. You will also act as an Authorised Person and support the Senior Authorised Person with plant safety and operational duties.Key responsibilitiesOperate and monitor the boiler, superheater and associated auxiliary equipment through the central control-room systemCarry out routine plant inspections, respond to alarms and make operational adjustments to maintain safe and efficient performanceSupport plant start-ups, shutdowns and isolations in accordance with site proceduresMonitor pumps, conveyors, water-treatment equipment and other balance-of-plant systemsAct as an Authorised Person, supporting permit-to-work, lock-out/tag-out and safe systems of workCarry out water-quality testing, basic plant chemistry checks and chemical-dosing adjustmentsPerform basic first-line maintenance, support fault-finding and report plant defectsMaintain accurate operational records, plant logs and shift-handover informationEnsure all activities meet site procedures and the required health, safety, environmental, operational and contractual standardsSkills and experienceTo be considered for this position, you should have:Operations experience gained within power generation, biomass, Energy from Waste, recycling, waste management, manufacturing or another steam-raising heavy-industrial environmentControl-room experience using a desktop control system to monitor and maintain plant operationsA relevant engineering or operational qualification, ideally NVQ Level 4, ONC, HNC or an equivalent apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds qualificationBOAS training and accreditation, or a BOAS certificate, would be highly advantageousGood mechanical awareness and practical analytical, fault-finding and problem-solving abilityA sound understanding of permit-to-work, isolation procedures and health, safety and environmental requirementsStrong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when requiredA proactive, flexible and safety-focused approach to plant operations, including working a 24/7 shift rota and weekendsSalary and benefitsA salary of £42,000 – £45,000Company pension schemeHoliday allowanceOngoing training and development opportunitiesThe opportunity to build a long-term career within the renewable energy sectorFor further information or to apply, please contact Steve or Callum at SCINERGY Recruitment on 02030 386 115 or emailTPBN1_UKTJ
