HGV Class 1 Driver – Crick

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Crick, Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and long-term stability within a supportive environment.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, or Truck Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday – Start times between 07:00 and 16:00
\n  • Sunday to Thursday – Start times between 21:00 and 01:00
\n  • Ad hoc shifts initially

Rates of Pay

 • Days – £17.92 per hour (Basic)
\n  • Days Overtime – £24.55 per hour (After 48 hours)
\n  • Nights – £19.95 per hour (Basic)
\n  • Nights Overtime – £25.44 per hour (After 48 hours)

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Depot-to-depot trunking deliveries
\n  • Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Completing pre-use and post-use vehicle checks
\n  • Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly
\n  • Completing all relevant transport paperwork and documentation
\n  • Complying with all road transport legislation and company procedures

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
\n  • A minimum of 12 months' Category CE driving experience
\n  • A valid Driver CPC Card
\n  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n  • A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial HGV Class 1 driving experience
\n  • Experience completing depot-to-depot trunking deliveries

Training Provided

 • Driver assessment prior to commencement
\n  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
