The HR Manager is responsible for leading and delivering a comprehensive, generalist HR service across the business. The role supports managers and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance, best practice and a positive employee experience.

The successful candidate will manage recruitment, employee relations, payroll administration, training and development, HR systems, health and safety compliance and organisational projects, whilst providing commercially focused HR advice to support business objectives.

This is a broad, standalone role, providing the opportunity to influence every stage of the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations, leadership development, organisational change and compliance.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping our people strategy, supporting managers to build high-performing teams, driving employee engagement and ensuring the business remains compliant with employment legislation and HR best practice.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

\n

Employee Relations

\n
    \n
  • Lead and advise on all employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, probation, flexible working and performance management.
  • \n
  • Coach and support managers to ensure consistent application of Company policies and employment legislation.
  • \n
  • Manage complex HR casework through to conclusion, including investigations and appeals.
  • \n
\n

Recruitment & Onboarding

\n
    \n
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring an excellent candidate experience.
  • \n
  • Oversee onboarding, contracts, right to work checks and new starter inductions.
  • \n
\n

HR Compliance

\n
    \n
  • Maintain compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • \n
  • Review and update Company policies, procedures and the Employee Handbook.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
  • \n
\n

Payroll & Benefits

\n
    \n
  • Prepare monthly payroll information and administer contractual changes, family leave, sickness and employee benefits.
  • \n
  • Support salary benchmarking and benefits reviews.
  • \n
\n

Learning & Development

\n
    \n
  • Coordinate mandatory training, appraisals and development programmes.
  • \n
  • Identify organisational training needs and support management development.
  • \n
\n

HR Systems & Reporting

\n
    \n
  • Manage the Company's HR Information System.
  • \n
  • Produce HR reports and workforce metrics including absence, turnover and recruitment.
  • \n
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity.
  • \n
\n

Health & Safety

\n
    \n
  • Support the maintenance of Health & Safety policies, risk assessments and statutory compliance.
  • \n
  • Coordinate mandatory training and workplace assessments.
  • \n
\n

Projects & Continuous Improvement

\n
    \n
  • Lead and support HR projects including organisational change, TUPE transfers and process improvements.
  • \n
  • Promote employee engagement and contribute to building a positive workplace culture
  • \n
\n

Essential

\n
    \n
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • \n
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role.
  • \n
  • Excellent knowledge of UK Employment Law.
  • \n
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • \n
  • Payroll administration experience.
  • \n
  • Strong communication, organisational and coaching skills.
  • \n
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • \n
\n

Desirable

\n

  • CIPD Level 7.
  • \n
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • \n
  • TUPE experience.
  • \n
\n
