Job Description:Job OverviewWe are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to a elderly service user in their family home in Newbury. The role involves supporting the service user with dementia, Parkinson's and Urethral catheter care.Due to the nature of the role, which includes providing personal and intimate care, this position is open to female applicants only. This is in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, relating to genuine occupational requirements.Previous experience in senior care, dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or will be advantageous. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised care and support. You would be working on chosen days of your choice from 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday, and working with another care who is a live in carer. It is a wonderful friendly home to work in and you will also be paid weekly.DutiesAssist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobilityProvide specialised care for individuals with dementia, or other cognitive impairmentsSupport with medication administration following prescribed guidelinesPrepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirementsManage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniquesOffer emotional support and companionship to clients of all agesAssist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environmentDrive clients to appointments or activities when necessary, ensuring safe transportationCatheter CareAdminister first aid in emergency situations and follow health and safety protocolsSupport families and carers by providing guidance on care routines and needsRequirementsExperience in assisted living or home care is desirableKnowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration and first aidFamiliarity with dementia, hospice, and senior care practicesAbility to handle heavy lifting safely when requiredValid driving licence for transportation dutiesCompassionate nature with excellent communication skillsAbility to manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalismFlexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if neededRelevant qualifications in caregiving or health & social care are advantageous but not essentialThis role is ideal for caring individuals committed to improving the quality of life for others through dedicated support and compassionate service.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timeWork Location: In personJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeWork Location: In personTPBN1_UKTJ
