We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils within primary schools across the Widnes area.

\n

This rewarding role involves working closely with children who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role\n

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • \n
  • Support children with Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties both academically and socially.
  • \n
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support individual learning plans.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • \n
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • \n
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • \n
  • Assist pupils in developing independence, confidence, and communication skills.
  • \n
Essential Requirements\n

Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting

\n

Experience working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties

\n

Strong understanding of inclusive education and SEN support strategies

\n

Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

\n

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

\n

Ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils

\n

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • \n
  • SEN-specific training (Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Makaton, PECS, etc.)
  • \n
  • Experience delivering interventions and supporting EHCP outcomes
