Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated, patient and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cheltenham.

About the Role

This rewarding role involves working with two year 4 pupils who have EHCPs in place. The children don't have high levels of need and there are no behavioural concerns, However, they require consistent, skilled adult support to access learning, develop independence, and remain safe within the school environment. They are currently working at a couple of levels below year 4, so would suit someone that has knowledge of both KS1 and KS2 curriculum.

You will work closely alongside the class teacher and a team of Teaching Assistants to:

• Support pupils with SEND needs on their personalised education pathways
\n
• Help implement tailored learning programmes aligned with EHCP outcomes
\n
• Maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment
\n
• Support emotional regulation, communication and social development
\n
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning
\n
• Contribute to regular reviews and planning discussions
\n

This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong communication skills, resilience, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a primary setting
\n
• Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
\n
• Confidence supporting children with high needs, including social, emotional and communication difficulties - ideal but not essential for this role.
\n
• A calm, consistent and proactive approach to behaviour support
\n
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
\n
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
\n
• Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, or similar) would be advantageous, though not essential.
\n
