Job Description

Role Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, dispatch, and inventory control of materials and finished goods while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and service. The Warehouse/Inventory Manager will drive continuous improvement, optimise warehouse processes, and lead a high‑performing team to support production and customer delivery requirements.

Key areas of responsibility

    \n
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff, including supervisors, FLT drivers, and operatives.
  • \n
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
  • \n
  • Set daily priorities and allocate resources to support production and logistics plans.
  • \n
  • Foster a positive, safety‑first, and high‑performance team culture.
  • \n
  • Oversee daily warehouse activities including goods-in, goods-out, material replenishment, and storage.
  • \n
  • Ensure efficient loading/unloading of vehicles and timely dispatch of finished goods.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate stock control processes, including cycle counts and annual stocktakes.
  • \n
  • Implement and maintain 5S and lean practices to ensure an organised, efficient warehouse.
  • \n
  • Manage warehouse layout, racking, space utilisation, and material flow.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and investigate discrepancies promptly.
  • \n
  • Work closely with production and material planners to ensure materials availability.
  • \n
  • Ensure accurate use of ERP systems.
  • \n
  • Set & Monitor KPIs related to stock accuracy, picking performance, and warehouse efficiency.
  • \n
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance service levels.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, and Quality teams to remove bottlenecks and drive efficiency.
  • \n
  • Lead or participate in improvement initiatives such as lean projects or digitalisation activities.

  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and safe systems of work.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • \n
  • Oversee training and adherence to manual handling, FLT operations, and PPE requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records for audits and traceability.

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for material handling and product storage.

Training

  • Job specific training to be provided focusing on understanding of current manufacturing processes, ERP and various software packages

Experience/Knowledge

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or senior logistics leader in a manufacturing environment.
  • \n
  • Experience implementing lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
  • \n
  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualification or similar safety training.
  • \n
  • Experience using WMS/ERP systems.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of HSE standards in warehousing and FLT environments.
  • \n

Competencies (Desirable):

  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualification or similar safety training.
  • \n
  • Experience with handheld barcode scanners.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting Just‑In‑Time (JIT) or high‑mix/low‑volume manufacturing.

  • Understanding of import/export regulations
