What will make your application stand out?

\n

\n

One piece of feedback from the hiring manager stood out immediately, and I think it's worth sharing with anyone applying for performance-focused design roles.

\n

\n

Your portfolio will be the deciding factor.

\n

\n

Not because they're looking for the most visually impressive work, but because they want to understand how you think as a designer.

\n

\n

A strong portfolio should go beyond showcasing finished creative. It should clearly communicate:

\n

\n

• The brief and objectives

\n

• Your creative thinking and approach

\n

• The rationale behind your design decisions

\n

• The commercial or performance results

\n

• What you learnt and how those insights influenced future work

\n
