Permanent | Monday to Friday | Days | 42 Hours Per WeekAre you an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer looking for a permanent Monday-to-Friday day role working with heavy industrial machinery?We are recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join the engineering team at an established feed mill in Ashbourne .This is a genuine heavy machinery engineering position where you will take a leading role in maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime and ensuring the mill's engineering systems remain safe, compliant and operational.This is a feed mill engineering environment not a food production or kill factory.Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:00am5:00pmFriday: 8:00am4:30pm42 hours per weekDays onlyMonday-to-Friday workingSome on-call support may occasionally be requiredFor experienced engineers looking to move away from nights, rotating shifts or continental patterns, this offers an attractive permanent weekday engineering schedule .The Role Working as part of the Mill Engineering team, you will help ensure the site's heavy machinery and engineering infrastructure operate safely, reliably and efficiently.Your responsibilities will include:Ensuring an effective planned maintenance programme is in place and adhered toReducing production downtime through preventative maintenance and effective engineering responseSupporting and maintaining an effective breakdown call-out planProviding regular reports on mill maintenance performance and engineering KPIsMaintaining pressure systems in accordance with legal and insurance requirementsSupporting maintenance purchasing and engineering stock controlWorking within agreed maintenance budgetsMaintaining and administering the site's Permit to Work systemEnsuring maintenance teams and contractors comply fully with health and safety requirementsSupporting contractor management across engineering activitiesIdentifying reliability issues and opportunities for engineering improvementMonitoring and controlling environmental risks associated with engineering activitiesEnsuring colleagues understand their responsibilities under site risk-management proceduresSupporting the wider engineering team with complex breakdowns and maintenance requirementsHeavy Machinery Engineering This is a practical, hands-on engineering role within a working mill environment.You will be working around large industrial machinery, motors, drives, conveyors, mechanical systems, process equipment and associated plant infrastructure .We are particularly interested in engineers who are comfortable operating within a heavy industrial environment and who understand the importance of plant reliability, preventative maintenance and safe systems of work.What We're Looking For We would particularly like to hear from experienced engineers with backgrounds in:Heavy Machinery MaintenanceMechanical EngineeringMulti-Skilled MaintenanceIndustrial EngineeringProcess EngineeringMillingBulk HandlingAgricultural EngineeringManufacturingQuarryingRecyclingMaterials HandlingOther heavy industrial environmentsYou should be an experienced engineer with strong practical fault-finding and maintenance skills.For this senior-level opportunity, you should also be comfortable:Taking ownership of engineering problemsPrioritising maintenance activitySupporting other engineersCoordinating contractorsWorking with permit-to-work systemsMaintaining high health and safety standardsIdentifying opportunities to improve plant reliabilityCommunicating effectively with operational and engineering teamsCandidates with transferable heavy engineering experience from the Armed Forces are also strongly encouraged to apply.What's in it for you?
