Assistant Commercial Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Commercial Manager to join Transport for London's Piccadilly Line Upgrade Programme, a major infrastructure programme valued at approximately £5 billion.

Working within the One Person Operation (OPO) Signalling Project, you'll support the commercial management of a significant NEC3 contract currently valued at approximately £105 million. This role offers the chance to work on one of London's flagship rail upgrade programmes, supporting contract administration, compensation event management, commercial governance and contractor performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Manager and wider project team, taking ownership of day-to-day commercial activities and playing a key role in managing contractor and subcontractor commercial matters.

Strong NEC3 Contract Experience

• Proven practical experience working under NEC3 contracts.

Commercial Management Experience

Rail or Major Infrastructure Experience

• Supporting commercial governance and risk management processes.

• Attending commercial meetings with contractors and key stakeholders.
\n
• Supporting negotiations and resolution of commercial issues.
\n
• Reviewing programme submissions and supporting programme narratives.
\n
• Assisting with applications for payment and valuation activities.
\n
• Verifying claims against contractual rates, forecasts and completed works.
\n
• Maintaining robust commercial records and audit trails.
\n
• Supporting procurement and supplier management activities where required.

We're looking for someone with practical, hands-on commercial experience, rather than a candidate whose experience is primarily academic or qualification-based.
