What You'll Do\n

As a School Tutor / ELSA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and academic success of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

    \n
  • Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
  • \n
  • Collaborating with the education team to help young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • \n
  • Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
  • \n
  • Delivering engaging enrichment activities during Golden Time.
  • \n
  • Assisting in lessons to support academic understanding and address pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
  • \n
  • Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations as they arise.
  • \n
  • Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
  • \n
  • Advocating for the ethos of Martha H School and leading on reading and phonics initiatives.
  • \n
  • Developing the Pupil Voice and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team about the Pupil Council.
  • \n
  • Building strong relationships with parents and carers, actively participating in transitions and consultations.
  • \n
What We're Looking For\n

To thrive in this role, you should have:

\n
    \n
  • A strong educational background, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • \n
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
  • \n
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • \n
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like food hygiene, forest school, lunchtimes, or school yoga.
  • \n
  • Skills in behaviour management and techniques.
  • \n
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • \n
