Embark on a fulfilling contract role as a school psychologist supporting elementary students through counseling and evaluations. This opportunity, located near East Lyme, CT, offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in a school environment, working closely with students, staff, and families.

This full-time position runs from ASAP through December 31, 2026, with hours scheduled from 8:45am to 3:45pm. With a manageable caseload of about 20 students, you’ll provide direct counseling, comprehensive assessments, and collaborative support for educational teams to help students reach their full potential.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid School Psychologist certification in Connecticut
  • Proven experience working at the elementary level
  • Strong background in conducting psychological and educational evaluations
  • Expertise in providing individual and group counseling for students
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
  • Deep commitment to fostering positive student development and creating supportive school environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and participate in the eligibility process for special education services
  • Deliver individual and group counseling to support student social-emotional wellbeing
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student needs
  • Develop intervention strategies and behavior plans when necessary
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold best practices for confidentiality
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP processes
