Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center has an excellent opportunity for a certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner/Physician Associate with a minimum of two years of Level III-IV NICU experience to join our Level III NICU staff in a full-time position.

The Role:

    \n
  • Join a team of five Neonatologists and nine Neonatal Nurse Practitioners/Physician Associates providing 24/7 in-house coverage for patient care and high-risk deliveries.
  • \n
  • Minimal transport responsibilities.
  • \n
  • Our model consists of one 24-hour NNP/PA in-house and often a second daytime NNP for up to 12 hours, 7 days a week.
  • \n
  • Our state-of-the-art NICU, with 29 single-family rooms, opened in June 2016 and has 35 beds to accommodate multiple gestations. All rooms include en-suite space for families to stay with their newborns.
  • \n
  • We actively use iNO, whole body cooling, HFOV, bubble CPAP, and exclusive human milk feedings for pre-term infants.
  • \n
  • We have approximately 450 admissions a year, 25% of these are neonatal transports.
  • \n
  • Our neonatal transport team provides 24/7 coverage using an RN-RN transport model with helicopter, fixed wing, and ground capabilities.
  • \n
  • We are an active part of the Vermont Oxford Network, Northern New England Perinatal Quality Improvement Network (NNEPQIN), participate in local and statewide research and other quality improvement projects, and host medical students.
  • \n
  • Our Neonatal Nurse Practitioners/Physician Associates are involved in outreach education throughout the region and serve as NRP and STABLE instructors.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be NCC or NCCPA certified, have at least two years of Level III-IV NICU experience, have prescriptive authority, and hold a current Maine license or be immediately eligible for the same.

Compensation Information:

\n

  • $140,000-$150,000 annual base salary
  • \n
  • The compensation range listed reflects the range Northern Light Health anticipates relying on in setting the wages for the position. The range may not necessarily include all additional compensation elements available, including but not limited to call pay, leadership stipends, etc.
