Job Title: CNC Router Machinist / Programmer
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Router Machinist with programming experience to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC routers to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and production specifications. The successful candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Program CNC routers using CAD/CAM software (e.g., AlphaCAM, Aspire, Fusion 360, Mastercam, EnRoute, or similar).
- Set up CNC router machines, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
- Optimize cutting paths and machining parameters for efficiency and material utilization.
- Perform machine setup, calibration, and first-piece inspections.
- Operate CNC routers to produce quality parts within specified tolerances.
- Inspect finished products using measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot programming and machine issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 3+ years of CNC router machining experience.
- 2+ years of CNC programming experience.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software.
- Strong understanding of G-code and CNC machine operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with wood, plastics, composites, aluminum, or other sheet materials.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
