Job Description

This contract position involves working three days per week with a dynamic secondary caseload in a supportive educational environment near Gloucester, VA. You’ll collaborate with dedicated educators and allied professionals to help students achieve their fullest potential inside and outside the classroom.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license for practice
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred
- Proven ability to manage secondary (middle and high school) caseloads
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with IEP documentation, goal writing, and therapy progress tracking
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student and school needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to improve students’ access, participation, and success in school activities
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students across a range of needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff for integrated student support
- Document progress and maintain accurate records according to school and professional guidelines
- Engage in IEP meetings and provide expertise to aid in educational planning
- Support students in building fine motor, self-regulation, sensory processing, and life skills as needed for their educational success
