Compensation Range

The organization anticipates offering a salary between $11,538.46 and $13,238.81 on a bi-weekly basis.

Overview

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Physician will independently manage professional outcomes while delivering primary healthcare services for our community health centers. Key Responsibilities

The following duties, assigned by the Chief Medical Officer, may be adjusted based on the needs of patients and clinic services:

  • Collect and assess patient health histories, documenting findings accurately and systematically.
  • Conduct physical assessments, distinguishing between normal and abnormal results.
  • Perform routine physical exams, diagnostic services, and treat illnesses and emergencies.
  • Uphold the highest standards of medical ethics consistently.
  • Ensure quality care for all patients.
  • Share on-call responsibilities with other medical staff as needed.
  • Gather and document patient medical histories.
  • Evaluate patients to assess their overall physical condition.
  • Order and perform various tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging to inform patient care.
  • Analyze test results and examinations to diagnose conditions.
  • Administer or prescribe appropriate treatments and medications.
  • Provide vaccinations to protect patients from communicable diseases.
  • Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention methods.
  • Report births, deaths, and outbreaks of contagious diseases to relevant authorities.
  • Refer patients to specialists for advanced treatment as necessary.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures.
  • Conduct physical exams for school admissions, job considerations, or insurance eligibility.
  • Assist the Chief Medical Officer in developing and evaluating medical policies and educational programs for patients and staff.
  • Share supervisory duties of nurse practitioners with the Clinical Director as required.
  • Operate within the privileges and protocols established by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Participate in committees as requested by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including infection control regulations.
  • Demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care for patients across all age groups.
  • Understand protocols related to domestic violence, child abuse, and elder abuse.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient and employee communications.
  • Engage in patient population management, considering cultural diversity and local resources.
  • Coordinate care by following up with patients post-hospital discharge and assisting with follow-up appointments.
  • Support self-management by building relationships with high-risk clients and anticipating their needs.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members, advocating for patients and utilizing available resources for care coordination.
  • Understand the quality improvement process, which may involve meetings, data collection, and auditing.
  • Utilize Evidence-Based Practice guidelines for disease management.
Supervisory Duties

May oversee mid-level providers under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency program in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, or Pediatrics is required.
  • Board Certification or eligibility is necessary.
  • Ongoing education in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, or Pediatrics through participation in medical societies is expected.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Must respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data, including rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Strong understanding of family-centered medicine principles and the ability to apply logical or scientific reasoning to various problems.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Current, unrestricted, and valid Physician and Surgeon license or equivalent from the Medical Board of California.
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, or Pediatrics.
  • Current, unrestricted, and valid DEA license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification for Family Practice/Internal Medicine, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatrics, and Basic Life Support (BLS-C) for all specialties.
  • Annual health examination, TB skin test clearance or biannual chest X-ray, and up-to-date immunizations for healthcare workers upon hire and annually thereafter.
