As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you’ll provide services three days each week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; 22.5 hours total), working closely with a welcoming and collaborative interdisciplinary team. This contract opportunity is conveniently located near Rochelle, IL, and focuses on making a direct impact through hands-on therapy, assessments, and partnership with educators.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current licensure or eligibility as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois
  • Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred
  • Skilled in conducting thorough special education evaluations
  • Knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Program) development and documentation
  • Ability to adapt therapeutic strategies to meet the individual needs of pre-K students
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate with teachers, parents, and fellow specialists

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide direct OT services to a caseload of approximately 20-30 pre-K students each week
  • Administer assessments and contribute to evaluations as part of the special education process
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional recommendations and writing clear, comprehensive documentation
  • Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to support student goals and overall development
  • Engage in ongoing communication with caregivers and school staff, promoting shared understanding of student progress
