Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of patients' conditions.
  • Develop, modify, and assess care plans tailored to identified issues, involving patients and their families in the process.
  • Implement therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques suitable for each patient's condition.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff by identifying educational needs.
  • Ensure continuity of care by engaging in discharge planning, providing home instructions, recommending equipment or modifications, and suggesting follow-up care as necessary.
  • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and other support staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation reflecting patients' responses to therapy and the necessity for skilled intervention as per regulatory standards.
  • Work with a high level of alertness and safety.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy or a related field, as required for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Constantly standing and frequently lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
    • Regularly using hearing and speech for effective communication.
    • Frequent visual tasks for both near and far distances.
    • Engaging in walking, reaching, gripping, and data entry activities.
    • Occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting/moving patients, with some tasks requiring the handling of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Occasional driving and rare crawling.
  • Licensure:
    • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification required within 90 days of employment.
    • State-specific Physical Therapist licensure as applicable (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin).
Work Environment

This position is primarily a day shift role within the Therapies Physical IP department, with a commitment of 32 hours per week.
