Bring your expertise in speech-language pathology to a rewarding Pre-K setting! This contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled SLP-CCC eager to make a difference with early learners. The role is available from August 19 to November 11, with flexible scheduling—open to candidates able to work 2 to 4 days per week, during the hours of 8:10 AM to 3:20 PM. While the primary location is at Madison, you’ll support Pre-K classrooms across two buildings, collaborating closely with a supportive staff. Shared office space encourages collaboration and connection with your colleagues.
What you’ll bring:
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Previous experience working with Pre-K or early childhood populations
- Knowledge of and ability to support students using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems
- Proficiency in conducting speech-language assessments; ability to collaborate on comprehensive evaluations
- Flexible, effective communicator comfortable switching between different service settings (speech only and self-contained classrooms)
- Strong teamwork skills; attendance required on Tuesday meeting days to support staff coordination
- Organized approach to caseload management with approximately 35 students identified as having speech/language needs
Core responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group therapy for Pre-K students with diverse communication needs
- Develop and implement IEP speech and language goals
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents to support student success across classrooms
- Complete accurate documentation, including progress notes and evaluation reports
- Serve as an active team member, contributing expertise during staff meetings and classroom consultations
- Flexibly travel between two building sites to reach all assigned students
