Type of Employment: Full-time, PRN

Compensation: $43 - $53 per hour, $55 depending on experience

Work Schedule: Preferred 5x8 shifts, with the option for 4x10 shifts (Saturday to Tuesday or Sunday to Wednesday)

Our facilities operate as Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), providing:

• Long-term care: For residents needing continuous skilled support and compassionate daily assistance.
• Short-term rehabilitation: For patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) delivers direct rehabilitation services in occupational therapy to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be NBCOT certified upon hiring; renewal is optional thereafter.
• Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
• Currently registered or licensed in the applicable state, maintaining an active license in good standing throughout employment.
• Preferred one year of experience; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• CPR certification required upon hiring or to be obtained during orientation, and must remain current throughout employment.

Specific Job Responsibilities

• Engage in community health initiatives as appropriate.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
• Coordinate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs.
• Exhibit proper body mechanics consistently.
• Make independent decisions when necessary.
• Understand and comply with practices, procedures, and regulations governing post-acute care facilities.
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others.
• Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
• Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
• Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training.

Essential Functions

• Implement occupational treatment plans for patients, focusing on activities of daily living.
• Set, assess, and adjust realistic, measurable, and functional goals.
• Supervise and evaluate the care provided by Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), Rehabilitation Aides, and students.
• Document care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Utilize therapy software effectively and correctly.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Employ reasoning skills and sound judgment in decision-making.
• Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during work hours.
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
