Job Description
Step into a dynamic school-based contract position supporting PreK through 5th grade students. This opportunity is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists with either a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or those pursuing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). With a full-time, 39 hours per week schedule, you’ll play an important role in enhancing communication skills and overall success for young learners. The assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year.
You’ll be working in a welcoming school environment roughly an hour north of Wilmington, focusing on pediatric populations and collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current or pending state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY credentials required
- Previous school-based or pediatric SLP experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Compassion for working with children from diverse backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to determine students’ speech and language needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals
- Provide both direct and consultative services across general and special education settings
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with staff, families, and external providers to ensure wraparound support
- Participate in IEP, multidisciplinary, and team meetings
