Psychiatry - Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program Per Diem - Physician - Syracuse, NY

Our organization is in search of a committed and empathetic Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to become part of our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) team on a per diem basis. This vital position involves the evaluation, diagnosis, and immediate treatment of patients facing behavioral health crises.

The psychiatrist within the CPEP is a key member of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring prompt and effective interventions that lead to patient stabilization.

This role presents an outstanding opportunity for a Psychiatry physician to join a well-rounded medical group.

• Perform psychiatric evaluations for individuals in crisis.
• Create and execute personalized treatment plans, which include managing psychotropic medications.
• Work collaboratively with emergency department personnel, such as physicians, nurses, social workers, and security staff, to provide coordinated and compassionate care.
• Advise on and facilitate suitable dispositions, including inpatient admissions, outpatient referrals, or community support services.

• Possession of an active medical license in New York State or eligibility for one.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
• Excellent diagnostic and decision-making abilities in fast-paced, high-acuity settings.
• Previous experience in emergency psychiatry or similar behavioral health environments is preferred.

• Hourly rate of $200, with additional compensation for evening and weekend shifts.
• The stated salary represents the initial range of total compensation and does not account for productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, and other potential cash compensation relevant to the role. Additionally, providers generally receive a CME allowance and other benefits from their medical group employer. Please be aware that this salary range is provided in accordance with state regulations and may vary based on the factors mentioned.
