Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated nursing professional to provide direct care in environments where patients require intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to our established policies, procedures, and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive information from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create a complete understanding of the patient's needs and condition.
• Analyze and synthesize assessment data to determine relevant diagnoses or conditions for care.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to identify optimal outcomes.
• Develop a care plan that outlines strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes, utilizing clinical judgment in partnership with patients and their families.
• Implement the care plan, ensuring a safe environment and coordinating efforts with patients, families, and the care team.
• Evaluate processes and progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
• Contribute to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices, regularly assessing personal performance and staying updated on best practices.
• Communicate effectively across all areas of practice, fostering collaboration with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
• Utilize clinical inquiry and integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care.
• Apply scientific knowledge and evidence-based practices to critical care nursing, ensuring care is tailored to the specific age and clinical needs of patients.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational background for licensing.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
• Engage in constant standing and walking.
• Frequently lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
• Regularly sit, reach, and perform data entry tasks.
• Utilize vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Employ smell to detect and recognize odors.
• Use hearing to receive oral communication and identify body sounds or alarms.
• Occasionally lift and carry objects weighing 25-50 lbs and assist in moving patients.
• Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive movements with legs and arms.
• Occasionally drive; rare instances of crawling and running may occur.

Licensure and Certifications

Depending on the state of work location, the following certifications are required:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Nurse (RN) - State-specific licensing body
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) - AHA
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - ENA
• NRP Essentials - AAP
