Job Description
Empower young learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist working with K-8 students in a collaborative, school-based setting for the full academic year. This contract opportunity offers a flexible, part-time schedule, spanning 2.5 to 3 days per week (18-20 hours), making it ideal for professionals seeking meaningful work-life balance. You’ll serve a manageable caseload of 33 students, providing support that fosters their growth and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP license (Illinois)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for CFY supervision
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of teletherapy platforms a plus
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and commitment to student-centered practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students K-8
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions—on-site or via teletherapy as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Maintain clear and timely documentation in accordance with state and school guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to broader educational planning
- Provide mentorship and support for CFY candidates, if applicable
