Full or Part Time Physiotherapist

Job Overview

This position is a full-time role, with the option for PRN (as needed) work. Our organization operates Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) that offer:

• Long-term care: Providing ongoing skilled support and compassionate daily assistance to residents.
• Short-term, sub-acute rehabilitation: Assisting patients in their recovery from surgery, illness, or injury.
• Collaborative care: Engaging in an interdisciplinary team approach, where nursing, therapy, and medical staff work in unison.

The patient demographics may vary slightly across different facilities. As a therapy professional, your role will be to support patients in achieving functional improvements and enhancing their quality of life within a nurturing, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct rehabilitation care in physical therapy to patients based on physician referrals, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
• Participate in community health initiatives and projects as appropriate.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and support departments.
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
• Understand and comply with organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
• Follow established physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
• Supervise and assess the care provided by Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs), Rehabilitation Aides, and students in the PT and PTA programs.
• Utilize therapy software accurately and effectively.
• Exhibit outstanding customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy program, holding a BSPT, MSPT, or DPT (those graduating in 2003 or later must possess an MSPT or DPT).
• Preferred: At least one year of experience in a post-acute care or similar setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
