We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in truck maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, especially those familiar with ready-mix or heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications.
  • Inspect and listen to machinery to diagnose malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Communicate effectively with shop leadership regarding significant issues and repair progress.
  • Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to assist with downed assets.
  • Conduct daily preventive maintenance on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, and inspections.
  • Service and maintain pumps, motors, and related components as required.
  • Weld, repair, and fabricate metal parts or assemblies as needed.
  • Procure repair parts and materials necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Provide on-site service support at other plants or job sites when necessary.
  • Assist in training and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistent maintenance practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • At least one year of experience as a truck mechanic is required.
  • Strong understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, and safety devices.
  • Familiarity with standard maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout and special work permits.
  • Competent in using computers and maintenance-related software systems.
  • Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must provide personal tools up to ¾-inch drive.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • A high school diploma is considered an asset.
  • Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks is preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Kiowa Plant located at 8750 Alan Ridge Rd, Kiowa, CO 80117. The role involves:

  • Regular outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Utilizing fine motor skills such as manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical activities including standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and pushing or pulling as necessary.
  • Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and various materials including oil, debris, and fumes.
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, vests, glasses, earplugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for specific tasks like welding.
  • This position is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of a PSP, MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
  • Travel to various job sites may be required as needed.
