QUALITY INSPECTOR – BESS / RENEWABLE ENERGY

\n

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) experience to support utility-scale renewable energy and electrical construction projects.

\n

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience inspecting electrical installations, BESS equipment, and construction activities while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Perform daily quality inspections of BESS and electrical construction activities.
  • \n
  • Inspect installation of battery systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, cable tray, conduit, grounding, and terminations.
  • \n
  • Verify workmanship against approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and project requirements.
  • \n
  • Conduct visual inspections and document deficiencies, punch-list items, and corrective actions.
  • \n
  • Review electrical installations for proper routing, labeling, connections, torque, and workmanship.
  • \n
  • Inspect cable pulling, terminations, grounding/bonding, and equipment installation.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports, checklists, photographs, and quality documentation.
  • \n
  • Coordinate with electricians, foremen, QA/QC personnel, engineers, and project management to resolve quality issues.
  • \n
  • Identify non-conforming work and follow through with corrective actions.
  • \n
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities as required.
  • \n
  • Ensure all work meets applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and project standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

    \n
  • Previous BESS / Battery Energy Storage System experience
  • \n
  • Electrical construction or QA/QC inspection experience
  • \n
  • Experience with utility-scale solar, substations, or renewable energy projects
  • \n
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and equipment layouts
  • \n
  • Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • \n
  • OSHA and/or electrical safety training preferred
  • \n
