Occupational Therapist School Setting - Yorktown, VA

Make a positive impact supporting students’ development and independence as an Occupational Therapist on a contract basis. This role is based near Yorktown, VA, and focuses on a secondary school caseload. Qualifications:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), with credentials valid for practice in the state
• Experience in school settings, particularly with secondary (middle and/or high school) students, preferred
• Strong understanding of school-based OT services, including IEP development, student assessment, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized strategies to support academic and functional success

Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with faculty, staff, and related service providers
• Provide direct intervention and consultative services for a diverse secondary student caseload
• Develop, monitor, and adjust treatment plans, maintaining compliance with educational and legal standards
• Support students’ abilities to participate in academic, social, and daily life activities within the school environment
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Communicate goals, progress, and recommendations with students, families, and educational teams
