Our organization is currently inviting applications from OB/GYN professionals interested in joining a thriving community on Florida's West Coast. Established in 1994, our employed medical group has become a leading provider of both primary and specialty care in the area.

This position is based in the charming beach town of Venice, offering both new and seasoned physicians a chance to become part of a supportive and expanding team, which includes three physician partners and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. We pride ourselves on fostering a family-like atmosphere for both our providers and staff.

About SMH-Venice Hospital

Opened in December 2021, SMH-Venice Hospital is situated on a sprawling 65-acre campus. The facility boasts a 365,000-square-foot, five-story hospital featuring:

• 212 private patient suites
• A 61-bed emergency care center
• Eight surgical suites, including a daVinci XI Robot

The OB/GYN practice is conveniently located in the adjacent two-story, 60,000-square-foot Medical Office Building.

SMH-Venice is equipped with:

• 10 luxury Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) rooms
• Two C-Section operating rooms
• Four triage beds

Additionally, the Level I nursery is staffed with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner available 24/7 for patients over 35 weeks. For more complex cases, SMH-Sarasota, located 17 miles to the north, is the only facility in Sarasota County offering a Level III NICU.

Position Highlights

• Engage in eight patient-facing sessions per week (four clinic days) with designated operating room time.
• Average of 20 patients seen daily in the clinic.
• Provide outpatient obstetric and gynecologic care.
• Perform C-Sections and various gynecologic surgeries and procedures.
• Participate in equitable call coverage, allowing you to deliver and round on your own patients.
• Benefit from a dedicated OB Hospitalist group providing 24/7 coverage for unassigned patients.
• Access to 24/7 anesthesia coverage, supported by three OB Fellowship-Trained Anesthesiologists.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
• Completion of a certified OB/GYN residency program.
• Active or eligible for a Florida medical license.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible status.
