Job Opportunity: Ob/Gyn Physician

Our organization is looking for an Ob/Gyn physician to become part of a multi-specialty practice at our clinic in Burnsville. The selected Obstetrician and Gynecologist will engage in delivering high-quality medical care, collaborating with fellow professionals to ensure comprehensive services. This role involves providing healthcare and treatment to patients within the defined scope of OB/GYN practice based on training and/or Board Certification. The ideal candidate will embody behaviors that align with our organizational values and group practice principles.

Practice Overview
  • Join a dedicated team of 8 physicians.
  • Surgical procedures and deliveries are conducted at Fairview Ridges Hospital, which is equipped with robotic surgical technology. Four physicians within the group specialize in robotic surgery.
  • There is an option to perform surgeries at the Ambulatory Surgery Center adjacent to the hospital.
  • Admitting Hospital: Fairview Ridges Hospital.
  • Physicians are expected to see patients at the Burnsville Clinic and one additional nearby Fairview community clinic.
  • Each physician averages 80 deliveries annually.
  • Daily patient load ranges from 20 to 24 in the clinic.
  • This position is for 1.0 FTE.
  • Schedule: 3-4 days per week, encompassing clinic hours, surgical duties, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Call Frequency: Approximately 4 days of call per month, with 24-hour in-house support for emergencies.
  • Established referral network with Fairview employed primary care and specialty physicians.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver general patient care through subjective and objective evaluations, assessments, and care planning.
  • Prescribe or administer treatments as outlined in the care plan.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to identify and evaluate patients' clinical issues and healthcare needs.
  • Consult and refer patients to other healthcare providers for unusual or complex cases within the Fairview network.
  • Maintain electronic medical records in compliance with organizational standards and licensure requirements.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
  • Act as a patient advocate by ensuring confidentiality, protecting patient rights, and addressing concerns or complaints regarding care.
  • Contribute to the development of new policies, programs, procedures, or techniques.
  • Engage in research, educational initiatives, or special projects as necessary.
  • Focus primarily on delivering quality patient care and participate equitably in departmental responsibilities.
  • May provide guidance to medical support and nursing staff within the designated unit.
  • Actively engage in a multidisciplinary approach to case management.
  • Utilize quality improvement tools to enhance patient care delivery, outcomes, and workflows.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-related growth and development principles to ensure appropriate service and patient safety.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible with the ABMS.
  • Possession or eligibility for Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
  • Meet the necessary criteria for Credentialing and Privileges.
