Job Description
Step into a dynamic school-based contract opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist, providing critical support to students in grades 6–8 or 10–12 in the southwest Houston area. This full-time position requires on-site engagement, working 37.5 hours per week during the 2026–2027 academic year, from August 11 to May 26. Assignments consider your zip code for convenience, and you’ll be able to express your preference for working with middle or high school students.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLP license and Florida licensure
- Experience in school-based SLP settings preferred
- Comfortable managing a caseload of approximately 50–60 students
- Proficient in comprehensive SLP services: therapy, ARDs, testing, and documentation
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to complete district fingerprinting if not already on file (time-sensitive credentialing requirement)
- Ability to present an image of licensure upon request
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted speech and language therapy in an educational environment
- Conduct thorough evaluations, develop individualized plans, participate in ARDs, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, school staff, and families to maximize student success
- Flexibly transition between middle and high school student needs, tailoring support for grades 6–8 and 10–12 as appropriate
