School Speech Language Pathologist - Bessemer, Alabama

Three full-time opportunities are available for passionate SLPs to serve onsite across several school settings in a well-supported district near Bessemer, AL. You’ll work collaboratively with educators and families to help students reach their communication goals.

Openings are available at:

• Pinson Valley High School (full-time)
• McAdory Elementary/McCalla Elementary (split between two schools, 2 days/3 days)
• Hueytown Middle School/Lipscomb Elementary (split between two schools, 3 days/2 days)

Key Qualifications:

• Active SLP certification in Alabama
• SLP Educator certification required (see ALSDE website for details)
• Completion of fingerprint/background process as required for educators in Alabama
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), or Clinical Fellowship (CF)
• Strong collaboration and organizational skills

Position Details:

• Duration: August 4, 2026 – May 27, 2027
• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, following the school calendar
• Caseload: Approximately 60 students
• Onsite only – engage directly with students and school teams
• Three positions available, each with a distinct assignment

Responsibilities:

• Assess and treat students with language, speech, and communication disorders
• Develop and implement individualized education plans
• Partner with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district guidelines
