School Speech Language Pathologist - Desoto, TX
Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students by providing speech and language services in a school-based setting. This contract position is available for experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) who are passionate about supporting communication development in elementary and high school students. Multiple openings allow for flexibility in grade level preference, and the assignments are full-time, onsite.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid SLP license is required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) must be obtained
- Prior experience working in schools as a Speech-Language Pathologist preferred
- Comfortable working with either elementary or high school caseloads
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with students, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to students according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations as needed
- Prepare comprehensive progress notes and documentation in compliance with school policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Create engaging, personalized therapy plans to maximize student progress
- Support a positive school environment and adapt strategies for classroom integration
