Requirements

Completion of a Radiology program is essential, along with obtaining the ARRT-R credential. Additionally, candidates must achieve either ARMRIT or ARRT-MR certification within 12 months of their hire date.

Job Summary

The role involves operating a scanner to capture images that assist in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients while accurately selecting anatomical and technical parameters to generate cross-sectional images.
  • Conduct patient pre-screening, scheduling, and provide education regarding the examination process.
  • Input and monitor patient data, ensuring images are transferred correctly.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications in accordance with established practices and regulations.
  • Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient history.
  • Maintain equipment functionality and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in keeping the department clean and organized, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
  • Work with a constant focus on safety and alertness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Completion of an MRI or Radiology Technology program.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Regularly communicate orally, utilizing hearing and speech.
  • Distinguish body sounds and respond to alarms or machinery issues through hearing.
  • Lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs frequently.
  • Assist with patient mobility on a regular basis.
  • Engage in frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
  • Occasionally lift and move objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements.
  • Rarely kneel or sit.

Certifications Required
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ARRT-MR Magnetic Resonance Imaging - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Or ARMRIT - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists
