Pay Transparency: The stated hourly wage range reflects the expected compensation for this role in New Jersey. The final salary offered will be influenced by various factors, including the candidate's educational qualifications, skills, and professional experience.
Sign-On Bonus: A one-time bonus of $12,000 is available for external candidates.
Position Overview:Under the supervision of the department head, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will carry out a range of technical procedures that necessitate independent judgment, creativity, and initiative in using radionuclides for diagnosing and treating diseases in patients. The role involves adhering to safety regulations and maintaining cleanliness standards within the department, while also following hospital policies and NRC guidelines. An understanding of growth and development principles is essential for assessing and addressing the specific needs of patients based on their age.
Qualifications:- Required Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related discipline.
- Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Expertise in operating PET-CT and SPECT/SPECT CT imaging equipment.
- New Jersey Nuclear Medicine Technologist License.
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Day shift availability.
- Part-time position.
- Operate PET-CT and SPECT imaging equipment to generate high-quality diagnostic images.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor patients throughout the imaging process to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Ensure accurate patient positioning to achieve optimal imaging results.
- Maintain and calibrate PET-CT equipment to ensure it functions correctly.
- Follow radiation safety protocols to protect both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
- Document imaging procedures and maintain precise patient records.
- Assist in training and supervising junior technologists and students.
- Stay informed about advancements in PET-CT technology and imaging techniques.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
