Sr. Reliability Engineer
Location: 155 N. McCarthy Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035
Duration: 4 Months Contract | Temp-to-Perm Possible
Pay: $55/hr without benefits/PTO
Schedule: 5 Days Onsite
Interview: Candidate should be available 4–5 days/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a Sr. Reliability Engineer to support multiple projects across the Imaging Platform, A7, and Sustaining programs within an R&D environment. The role involves reliability testing, statistical data analysis, field failure investigation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability risk assessment for complex life-science instruments.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple reliability projects and develop/execute reliability test plans.
- Perform reliability/final testing for new product launches and support ongoing products.
- Analyze test data using statistical methods and provide reliability assessments.
- Support field failures, troubleshoot instruments, perform root cause analysis, and recommend/validate corrective actions.
- Conduct FMEA/DFMEA and identify product reliability risks.
- Manage detailed test data and communicate findings to engineering teams and leadership.
- Provide reliability input for new product designs and product improvements.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering and other teams.
Approx. 30% Lab Work | 40% Field Support | Remaining: Data Analysis, Test Planning & Reliability Activities
Must Have
- Reliability Engineering & Reliability Analysis
- Strong understanding of Reliability Fundamentals
- Basic statistical analysis skills for interpreting test/experimental data
- Reliability testing, troubleshooting & root cause analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

5+ years of reliability engineering/testing experience
(2 years may be substituted with an advanced engineering degree) - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in a BSL-2 lab and prepare blood samples for testing (training provided)

- Fluidics / Optics / Electro-mechanical systems
- Test Automation, LabVIEW, Arduino
- Six Sigma / DOE / Reliability Modeling
- Minitab, MATLAB, JMP, or R
- Experience with life-science instrumentation
Ideal Candidate: Hands-on reliability engineer experienced in testing, statistical analysis, field failure investigation, root cause analysis, and working with complex fluidic, optical, electronic, or electro-mechanical products.
