Job Description

Responsibilities:
Welding:
• Fabricate trailer components (bases, frames, cages, etc.) using MIG welding techniques.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, adjusting gas flow, voltage, amperage, and wire speed.
• Perform various welding positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and potentially overhead).
• Ensure welds meet quality standards for strength and appearance.
• Tack, clamp, and weld with proper bead size.
Blueprint Reading and Following:
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications.
• Follow assembly instructions and procedures.
• Ensure finished products meet customer demands and specifications.
Material Handling:
• Obtain raw materials (metal sheets, profiles, etc.) from material handlers.
• Prepare materials for welding, including measuring, cutting, and cleaning.
Quality Control:
• Inspect and test welded joints for quality and structural integrity.
• Identify and address any defects or deviations from specifications.
Safety:
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Report any accidents or near misses to supervisor immediately.
Other Duties:
• May perform grinding, sanding, and finishing operations to smooth welds and remove sharp edges.
• May assist with other fabrication tasks as needed.
• Provide feedback and input into the fabrication process.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience in MIG welding, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
• Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
Skills:
• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
• Ability to set up and operate MIG welding equipment.
• Knowledge of different welding positions and techniques.
• Familiarity with various metal types and welding procedures.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification or vocational training is a plus.
Other:
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy materials.
