Position SummaryThe primary objective of this role is to conduct a range of imaging procedures, including CT scans and X-rays, at a technical level that does not require constant oversight.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and compassionate patient care to assist physicians, nurses, and other staff in addressing the needs of patients throughout the facility.
- Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment, including but not limited to X-ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS.
- Conduct all imaging examinations in compliance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, ensuring that the physician on duty is informed of the results.
- Perform basic clinical procedures under the supervision of the physician and/or nurse on duty.
- Collect laboratory samples and conduct lab tests in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards, including COLA and CLIA.
- Ensure an adequate supply of reagents and consumables for quality testing.
- Carry out routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment as per established protocols.
- Implement Quality Control measures as defined by the laboratory.
- Participate in Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis as required by the facility.
- Document all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this role for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.
- Fulfill duties as an ER Technician when necessary.
- Travel to various facility locations as needed.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program is required.
- Associate’s Degree in Radiology is preferred.
- Certification as a medical radiologic technologist as mandated by the state of practice is required.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography is required.
- Registration with the ARRT in computed tomography is preferred.
- Preferred experience of 1+ years in an emergency room setting.
- Proficiency with various X-ray/CT equipment, including manufacturer’s hardware/software and PACS.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills is required.
