Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated Occupational Therapist serving school-aged children and young adults, ages 3 to 21, on the southwest side of the Houston area. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity offers a chance to support multiple schools within a thoughtfully assigned local zone, helping maximize your efficiency and connections with students and teams. You’ll primarily focus on evaluations, rotation-based direct services, attending ARDs, and collaborating with educational staff—all while using SHARES and Onward school health software to manage documentation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed as an Occupational Therapist in Texas
  • Experience in school-based or pediatric OT settings (highly-qualified COTAs with extensive school experience are welcome to apply)
  • Commitment to full-time hours (37.5 hours/week); part-time options are unavailable
  • Able to provide your own reliable transportation for local school travel within your assigned zone
  • Comfortable working independently with a caseload of up to 70 students (with 30-40 receiving direct services)
  • Strong skills in documentation, IEP tracking (Excel), and effective communication with staff and families
  • Previous employment with this district not permitted; prior termination from any school district may disqualify

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and consults for students ranging from early childhood to transition ages
  • Deliver direct OT services using a scheduled rotation (frequency varies by student need)
  • Attend ARD/IEP meetings and collaborate on multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain timely and detailed documentation using required digital tools
  • Participate in ongoing credentialing, including fingerprinting and background checks
