Join Our Team as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a board-eligible or board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist to become a full-time faculty member within our residency training program at the Flint Campus of the College of Human Medicine.

About Our Organization

Located in Flint, Michigan, our medical center serves a diverse patient demographic and addresses various health disparities. We are proud to deliver around 3,000 babies annually. Our Obstetrics and Gynecology Department consists of a vibrant team of faculty physicians, private practitioners, advanced practice providers, and registered nurses. We feature a Level III NICU and a Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine, enabling us to manage high-risk pregnancies effectively. Additionally, we are recognized as a Level 3 facility by the Joint Commission Maternal Levels of Care Program. Opportunities for minimally invasive robotic surgeries are available using the da Vinci Xi surgical system. Our graduates are well-prepared for successful careers as specialists or subspecialists.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will engage in various aspects of obstetric and gynecologic care, including:

  • Laborist shifts
  • Clinic attending physician duties
  • Gynecologic surgery
  • Floor rounding
  • Consultation services

Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are essential for this role.

Academic Appointment

Faculty members in this position may seek an academic appointment with the College of Human Medicine at a rank that reflects their experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical coverage and supervise residents 4-5 days a week
  • Assist with administrative tasks for the residency program as directed by the program director
  • Engage in departmental and institutional committees
  • Contribute to the formal education of residents and medical students
  • Participate in scholarly activities as outlined by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

The primary practice site is located on the 2nd, 4th, and 9th floors of our main hospital building at 1 Hurley Plaza, Flint, MI 48503. Two Big Ten universities, Michigan State University and the University of Michigan-Flint, along with Kettering University and Mott Community College, are also in close proximity.

Hurley Medical Center, which includes Hurley Children's Hospital, is affiliated with Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, and other prestigious institutions in the Midwest.
