Faculty Position Overview

Our organization is currently looking for a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Faculty Gynecologic Oncologist to join our team at the medical school, with practice opportunities at our healthcare facilities in Tyler, TX, located just 92 miles from Dallas. Together, we can positively impact the healthcare landscape in East Texas.

Your Responsibilities

• Hold a faculty position within the medical school, actively participating in the education of residents.
• Utilize advanced surgical technologies, including the da Vinci robotic surgical system.
• Engage in research collaborations through GOG and MD Anderson clinical trials.
• Manage a balanced workload of inpatient and outpatient duties.
• Typically, your schedule will consist of 2–3 days in the outpatient clinic and 2–3 days in the operating room, with the chance to oversee the chemotherapy clinic.
• Work alongside a comprehensive support team, including multiple Advanced Practice Providers focused on oncology services.
• Collaborate with various specialists, such as OBGyn Faculty, OBGyn Hospitalists, Medical Oncologists, and Urogynecologists.
• Explore opportunities for collaboration with rural clinics across East Texas.
• Participate in a collaborative call structure shared among multiple specialties, allowing for flexibility and input from the incoming physician.

About Our Healthcare System

Our healthcare system encompasses 10 hospitals, over 90 clinics, the Olympic Plaza Tower, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two freestanding emergency centers, and regional home health services covering 41 counties. We also operate an EMS fleet with more than 50 ambulances and four helicopters, along with a comprehensive trauma care network, including the only Level 1 trauma facility in the region. About the Medical School

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh within the University of Texas System. Our mission focuses on training future healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of rural and underserved communities, particularly in East Texas.

We offer a comprehensive Graduate Medical Education program with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to develop specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, our Master of Biotechnology program provides an interdisciplinary curriculum emphasizing medical research and biotechnology innovation, preparing students for careers in medical research, diagnostics, and therapeutic development.

Currently, we are constructing a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler’s Midtown District. The building is expected to be completed in the fall of 2025.
