Quality Assurance Inspector - Assembly

Pay: $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Shift: Day Shift
Job Type: Full-Time- Temp to hire
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to provide temporary coverage while our current QA Technician is on a leave of absence. This role is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through receiving inspections, in-process audits, product verification, and quality assurance activities to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection, blueprint reading, and manufacturing processes, with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving Inspection- Perform receiving inspections on raw materials and components from suppliers and customers.
- Review Certificates of Conformance (COCs) and Material Test Reports to verify compliance with specifications.
- Document inspection results and identify non-conforming materials.
- Conduct in-process product audits and configuration audits on internally manufactured components and assemblies.
- Perform Black Light Inspection Audits as required.
- Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support Operator Self Inspection (OSI) programs for in-house manufacturing operations.
- Assist production personnel with quality-related questions and requirements.
- Witness assembly and testing processes for completed products.
- Verify products meet specified performance and quality requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspection and testing activities.
- Utilize quality improvement techniques to identify and prevent potential quality issues.
- Recommend improvements to procedures, work instructions, and inspection processes.
- Participate in team-based quality and productivity initiatives.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and techniques.
- Experience using gauges, fixtures, surface plates, profilometers, and other standard measuring equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to apply machine shop mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Normal vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and full use of limbs.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 40 pounds.
- No allergies to oils, solvents, or manufacturing-related solutions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and inspection environment throughout the shift.
