Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and valid Occupational Therapist license
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
  • Proficiency with IEPs, assessments, and student evaluations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic educational environments
  • Commitment to fostering student independence and success

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions
  • Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate therapy documentation
  • Provide consultative support to teachers, staff, and families
  • Work collaboratively across multiple sites; primarily based in Tecumseh, with one scheduled day per week in Addison
  • Promote skill development in motor planning, sensory processing, and self-care for students
  • Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment or strategies for classroom and home use
