Job Description
Make a lasting impact on students’ lives as an on-site Speech-Language Pathologist collaborating with passionate educators throughout the full 2026-2027 school year. Service is needed at three area school sites, allowing you to build meaningful relationships and support student growth in both elementary and secondary settings.
Step into a key school-based SLP role, where you'll assess and manage speech, language, and communication needs for a diverse caseload of approximately 60 students. Your expertise will guide IEP development and help deliver targeted therapies, ensuring all students receive the support they deserve.
What We’re Seeking:
- Current, valid Speech-Language Pathology license in Alabama
- SLP Educator certification for public schools in Alabama
- Successful fingerprint/background clearance for school employment
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellow applicants considered
- Previous experience in a school setting is valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments for speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with educational teams and families
- Provide tailored direct and group therapy as outlined in IEPs
- Attend and contribute to school meetings regarding special education needs
- Maintain accurate and timely student records and reports
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment
Key Details:
- Contract role for the entire 2026-2027 school year
- 37.5 hours per week
- Onsite positions only; no remote delivery
- Choose from openings at a high school, combination elementary campuses, or a middle/elementary site mix
- Caseloads around 60 students; support and collaboration built in
