Position Overview

The Physical Therapist (PT) delivers direct rehabilitation services in physical therapy to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (BSPT, MSPT, or DPT); those graduating in 2003 or later must hold an MSPT or DPT degree.
• Current registration or licensure in the relevant state is required, with maintenance of an active license in good standing throughout employment.
• Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• CPR certification is required upon hiring or must be obtained during orientation, and it must remain current throughout employment.

Specific Job Responsibilities

• Engage in community health initiatives and projects as appropriate.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs.
• Consistently demonstrate proper body mechanics.
• Make independent decisions when necessary.
• Possess knowledge of relevant practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines in post-acute care settings.
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Exhibit proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others.
• Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
• Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training.

Essential Functions

• Implement physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
• Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals.
• Supervise and assess care provided by PTAs, Rehab Aides, and PT and PTA students.
• Document care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary.
• Exhibit reliable and consistent attendance.
• Employ reasoning skills and sound judgment in all situations.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during work hours.
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
