Greater Washington Anesthesia Network (GWAN) is recruiting Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. This teaching institution has a very strong relationship within the APP group and with attendings and other O.R. staff. These positions can be full-time, part-time, or PRN.

Clinical Site

\n
• Level 1 Trauma Center
\n
• 17 main ORs - General, ortho, ENT, plastics, neuro, urology, and GYN (rarely kidney, thoracic, liver)
\n
• Other OR sites - Endo, EP/IR, MRI, ambulatory surgery center
\n
• OB typically covered by residents
\n
• No pediatrics
\n
• No cardiac
\n

Schedule

\n
• Provider preference for 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts
\n
• Timely, reliable breaks throughout the day
\n
• Strict relief times (out on time or early over 95% of the time)
\n
• No call
\n
• Occasional weekend and holiday coverage
\n

Education

\n
• Graduation from an Anesthesiologist Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs
\n

Licensure

\n
• Current and valid license to practice in Washington, D.C.
\n
• Anesthesiologist Assistant accreditation and certification through the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)
\n

Experience

\n
• A minimum of 1 year of prior Anesthesiologist Assistant experience post-graduation
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.)
\n
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
\n

Compensation

• W2 Full-Time: $230,000 - $270,000 per year (depending on experience)
\n
• W2 PRN Hourly Rate: $180/hour
\n
