Physician- Hospitalist- Ann Arbor, Livingston, Chelsea (Days/Nights Hybrid)

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to become part of our Hospitalist Medicine Division as a Physician. This role offers a chance to significantly contribute to the health and well-being of our community!

• Position Type: 5-1.0 FTE
• Night Shift Schedule:
  • Each facility is staffed overnight with teams of 2-5 physicians and 1-2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensuring overlapping coverage.
  • Ann Arbor:
    • Three physicians provide coverage during the night.
  • Chelsea:
    • Independent coverage is required at Chelsea and Livingston.
  • Livingston:
    • Independent coverage is required at Chelsea and Livingston.
• Day Shift Schedule: Typically follows a 7 on, 7 off pattern.
• Location: Candidates can choose two out of the three available locations:
  • Chelsea Hospital:
    • Average patient load of 12-16 per physician per shift. The ICU is closed.
  • Trinity Health Ann Arbor:
    • Average patient load of 14-16 per physician each shift. The ICU is closed.
  • Trinity Health Livingston:
    • Average patient load of 25-30 per physician each shift. The ICU is open with an Intensivist available Monday to Friday for afternoon rounds.

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Valid State of Michigan License.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience in Hospitalist Medicine is preferred.

A typical shift may involve:

• Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver direct inpatient care.
• Monitoring and managing both acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Responding to clinical changes and patient deteriorations, including overseeing Code Blues in Livingston.
• Ensuring accurate clinical documentation and compliance with coding and billing standards.
• Handling up to 8 admissions during a shift.
• Supervising APPs regarding admissions and cross-coverage matters.
